Not In Your Face
I spent most of my life staying
out of people's faces, always
looked straight
ahead,
Any problems that arose were
dealt with mild arguments,
softly confident
instead.
I could've brandished a weapon
to make myself heard,
bravely chose a
handshake,
Ridicule came from all sides of
refined thought, to be safe,
I often did a double
take.
