Shedding Childhood
If growing up means not being
childish, I have past the finish
line to become age
innocent,
There are no childish traits encircling my soul, only
insights while living
vigilant.
I grew up very quickly in order to
maneuver through the maize
of ignorance, I frightfully
found,
I was a baby once but set aside desires in the hope my sins
would be washed away,
unbound.
