Quatrain of Close Moments

Just missed them

It is beyond the close moments
in life, my favorite
aspirations
have all
faded.

I once thought there was a chance
the hard parts of my
soul could be
persuaded.

I had hoped I would soften up and
listen to my mother,
instead of
closing my
ears,

Had I not been so stubborn, maybe
I would have become
much wiser
over the
years.
