Cutthroat - not me

I have spent my laudable
life, noble-minded,
dealing above the
law,

My reward, for my behavior,
has been to witness
providential
awe.

If I had known, my best
ethical effort, would
not get me to
nirvana,

I would have sinned; been a
ruthless cutthroat
and not a
prima donna.
