Quatrain of Enlightened Species

Enlightened Species - maybe not

We think of our species as nobly
enlightened creatures
residing on God's
miraculous green
earth,

As time passes we see ourselves
climbing from the dark
ages grabbing little
knowledgeable
worth.

But in reality, we are not moving
forward in our quest to
be more wise, more
conscientiously
renewed,

Mankind is moving backward in his
pursuit to become cunningly
cultivated, in fact, wisdom
is becoming more
crude.
