Quatrain of Evening Chores

Must be performed

Evening chores are the hardest
to arrest, no one else
out cleaning or
feeding,

It's the farmer who must get off
the couch and feed the
livestock, now
pleading.

There's glory in being wanted by
other creatures when
the soul is not
overweening,

I shall never complain and be
thankful for a life where
evening work has
meaning.
