Yorktown Disciple
Quatrain of Freedom Walk

Never before

I find myself timidly walking the earth
in great fear, with a mask
slapped over my mouth
and a gun in my
pocket,

No longer do I feel free to travel as I
did when I was a child, when
freedom was protected by
those who didn't mock
it.

The days when diseases were left to
medicinal findings is over, now
we are all doctors and tell
each other how to
behave,

The farther down this road we go the
further we leave the practice
of reason, a time when
nonsense keeps shoving
me toward my
grave.
