Happenstance - pray to be lucky

To believe we are all born equal
in anyway, is a pipe dream
fed to the true
believer,

There are too many variables in
the world, few are equal, a
reason to be a morose
griever.

Some are lucky just by chance,
others are smart and few are
wise, but there's no equal
foothold,

We can pretend we all should be
free and live high on the hog,
but truth shows
happenstance
is pricy as
gold.
