Quatrain of Hardship Prevails

Hardship Prevails - in life

I was hoping to be saved from
all hardship while here
on earth, it didn't
seem too much to
ask,

I was in for a shock when my
troubles took hold of
my soul; found I was
drinking sin from a
flask.

Adversity is the price we all pay
to inhabit the world, it is
a renters fee God
has determined
fair,

If there was no cost for happiness
we wouldn't find a smile
worth wearing nor
exhilaration to
share.
