Quatrain of I Am Aware

I Am Aware - believe it or not

The first day I became aware
of myself, shyness
covered my
skin,

I grabbed for a swaddling cloth
to help cover my
soul and my
sin.

It is not that I am ashamed of
myself, it's just strange
to know
me,

I am the image of God but when
I behold myself, it is hard
to believe what I
see.
