Quatrain of I Can Tell
Lying
I can tell when you lie to me,
your mouth goes sideways
and your eyelids
flap and
flinch,
When together your demeanor
softens, we both become
covered by grace
over every
inch,
But when we're apart I hear a
few nasty words you have
told behind my back
just for a
thrill.
I can tell when you lie to me,
I'd rather be friends and
fight with you than
give up my
freewill.
