Quatrain of Let My Friends

I must

Let me carry my life burdens upon
my back without any
help from
friends or
family,

I placed them thereon myself after
a fit of foolishness and
now I must carry
them for
free.

I know the punishment for behaving
badly is mine and mine
alone, this
I easily
construe.

God has decided sanctions for losing
control of the spirit must
be the harshest He
can possibly
do.
