Longer Straps - boot straps

Lord, give me longer boot straps
so I can pull myself up
out of the
gutter,

With so much baggage placed on
my back, bending over
makes me
sputter.

Lord, I do not ask for a new pair
of boots, only laces that
I might be able to
reach,

You don't need to help me pull, I
will do it myself, as long as
I don't have to over
reach.
