Quatrain of No Dialect
No Dialect - the language of the gods
When I was young my family all
spoke German when
they came to the
States,
My Mom had other ideas, she
made sure I spoke English,
one of many
dictates.
Not only did I learn to speak the
English language, I learned
it well, no odd
venacular,
The goal of immigrants used to
be to fit in, one
America, most
spectacular.
