Old Pain - get ready

I had pain dripping from too
many leftover thoughts
once conjured up
before I got
old,

Now that the time is here for
me to acknowledge my
age, the pain has
come back
tenfold.

The aching I am feeling has
all to do with the life I
lived and the path I
took so very long
ago,

My agony is centered around
countless unwise foretelling of yesteryear by not
paying attention to
tomorrow,
