Pledged Love - it is mine

I placed my hand over my
heart and pledged
allegiance to
you,

I swore I would always be
faithful and abiding
and let my love
accrue.

There is no other pledge
as deeply configured,
as the love I can
willingly
depart,

Living without you would
mean having to admit
there is no pledge as
dear to my
heart.
