Purchase Faith - times were simpler

How I yearn for the snake
oil salesman to sell
me a bill of
goods,

At least when I am foiled
I can hear a good
story and wild
falsehoods.

I long for yesterday when
a bottle of tonic once
cured all man's
ills,

I would not know what is
coming, but I could
purchase faith the
bottle instills.
