Absolutism - complete control by a government or king

Divined by God before eternity began,
the absolute rule of a King's
bell,

There should be none to have his way,
nor the beginnings of freedom's
spell.

I rule your soul with spiritual wealth,
sanctimonious lessons, so well
learned,

I once thought you capable of helping
yourself, but you crashed and
burned.
