Quatrain of Backtracking

Backtracking - society no longer
moving toward a better life

Crucified on the cross of
immorality by shifting
political
sands,

Pushed toward a harder life
once immobilized by
inventive
demands.

The wheel made out lives
much easier, medicine
has lessened our
pain,

But now we are backtracking,
placing regulations upon
our souls, without
restrain.
