Quatrain of Boomerang Love
Boomerang - that which goes and comes back
1.
When I fell in love with you I did
not forecast any sparks in
return,
What you did, or what you felt,
I would have to righteously
earn.
But it was a surprise when enamored
thoughts slapped my
face,
What came back to me was
boomerang love in total
disgrace,
2.
You flatly denied I existed, you
went so far as to forget my
name,
The whining and dining was
all for naught, putting me to
shame.
O, baby, if I could just throw
my love out so easily and
expected,
I would feel so empowered if it
came back imperviously
undetected.
3.
You could just go play with
yourself and pout like a childish
lush,
I wouldn't have to worry about
giving up a smitten emotional
rush.
The next time I throw passion
out for you to seize and
embrace,
I'll remember to hold love's
catcher's mitt in front of my smiling
face.
