Quatrain of Divine Approbation

Approbation - approval, praise, commendation

1.
O, thy whimpering soul,
thy cry for acceptance
without a measured
correction,

To be the best of spirit, to
carry out laws the universe
follows, for its
direction,

I wish my soul unspoiled,
my quest for heavenly
powers, aid moral
reassurance,

If I am to spiritually prosper,
I shall count my blessings
and find holy
reassurance,

2.
The life I have imagined,
the world I vowed to avoid,
beckons me now to
endure,

It is time to humble my distain,
for the sinful, and allow
them to live a life
unpure,

My judgment has been harsh,
my punishment a burden
to many who meant
well,

But there remains little question,
I have struggled to remain
faithful and out of
hell.
