Digestion - a reaction
enabling absorption

I filled my soul with
hallowed beauty to
satisfy a righteous
need,

I washed it down with
reverence without
attempting to force
feed.

I have spent my life
digesting God's word
spread on my mind like
jelly,

But I remain in religious
discomfort from holy
gas erupting in my
belly.
