Quatrain of Forced Labor
Forced Labor - involuntary work
1.
I was born black and forced to
lift spiritual weights over my
head,
I heard the whip crack whenever
I slowed down to hear what was
said,
What I heard broke my heart,
it was the low whispering sounds of
fear,
Religious men thought my servitude
would take them to an eternal
sphere!
2.
They were fooled by the color of
their own skin and left to grab empty
space,
Their love of themselves covered their
eyes to race postulates placed in God's
face:
All men must work and willfully carry
the burdens of the dead and those
alive,
God is black and white and demands
there are no freedoms humanity can
forsake.
