Foretelling - prophecy - prediction

1.
I was looking for the end of a
thought I had when I was a
child,

I knew if I could find the edge
of a spirit I would become
reviled,

No one loves a seer of fate,
one who can tell events
forthcoming,

And so I have decided not to
explain why the end of life is
numbing.

2.
Alas: I shall not foretell the
pain that follows in youth's
wake,

Nor bother with an inquiry
into disappointments of a man's
fate.

But I will give a warning: tis
the future that follows nagging
laments,

And what you have done in the
past will determine coming
events.
