Quatrain of God's Elves
Elves - fairies of kindness
1.
The old are feeble, but worthy and
wise,
The young are goodness, in evil
disguise,
Gaining a little knowledge, posing a
danger,
And to themselves, they are a
stranger.
2.
For they know not the perils breathed into
life,
Honing fortunes at the cost of toiling a
knife,
Too young to for experience to set a
course,
To old to advert ideology with centrifugal
force,
3.
They learn barely enough to know their
alive,
But not enough to know why they
thrive,
For they believe it is clearly up to
themselves
To change the world and become God's
elves.
