Quatrain of Heaven's Linens
Linens - God's fabric
1.
Find me a spine I might
attach to soft tissue I
declare,
Lord, I am afraid of my
shadow, I'm scared of the
air.
I came into this world strong,
I was crying but I was
old,
I was ready to change evil
into love, God so willing
sold,
2.
But I was fooled, like so
many before me with
ambition,
It wasn't love I bought,
it was a controlling mind in
motion.
I invoked for you, heaven's
linens upon which to
sleep,
Instead, you left me -
the price of my love was too
steep.
3.
Now I can barely hold my
head up, I feel like a
failure,
I am spineless, willing to
take my life just as a
favor,
You may go live with the
heart you wish to hear
beat,
I shall stay away; spend my
life as a panhandler on the
street!
