History Fails - we never learn
from history

I watched my mind go completely
closed to the old ideas
brought back as
new.

I had hoped these thoughts were
utterly dead and not
a current world
view.

I heard neoteric versions of old
cliches about our social
and economic
behaviors,

I am sad to learn nothing has
changed, history has
simply done us no
favors.
