Quatrain of Hunger
A compelling need or desire for food.
A compelling need for soul food.
Ocean tides of hunger washing up
on the shores of coveted yearning,
forcing rapacious crapulence,
deep into craven urges.
Partake, O, thy ravenous wish;
satisfy a voracious request;
and let thy will power roam beyond
pounding, gluttonous urges.
And as thy compulsion slips back
out to gain more momentum, thy
will to crush the appetite mounts
in thunderous fashion,
Thy forced spiritual equanimity,
will indulge a satisfied want, until
the energy is burned away -
it will return with more passion.
