Quatrain of Kinship
Kinship - relationship
1.
I am the son of plainsman where the
wind whipped his soul with awesome
force,
I was born with my daddy's emancipated
spirit walking behind his plow and
horse.
But technology has separated our
consecrated shadows one from
another,
I cannot relate to working with a horse
or plowing a field alongside my
mother.
2.
Today I see a screen full of electrons
transmitting an image of early
sin,
My work is the motion of my fingers
and a little thought with an easy
spin.
The wind that made a man of my dad
no longer has an influence on my
wit,
I am left with bouyant living, a computer module; no farmland where I can
spit.
