Lost Love - love that is lost

I loved you when I was young,
and then you left,
nevermore seen
again,

But I never stopped loving you,
though it was your heart
I could not
win,

I vowed not to pursue, to walk
tall and define my life
without you in
it,

Now, after all these years, your
love still hangs on me,
as I labor to
forget.
