Quatrain of Middle Class
Middle Class - it's great living in
a class system
Identified as "middle class", it
was not I, who would have
balkanized my
status,
When I was a child, class was
not part of the life I lived,
not even when on
hiatus.
We have become divided in the
mind and are learning to hate
money as if it an immoral
disease.
America, no longer a mixing bowl-
'tis a plate without hope -
racial partitions for
potatoes and peas.
