Quatrain of Moral Cowardice
Cowardice - compromise
I set my principled intuition
aside so I could appear
as a logical
scholar,
I didn't want anyone to think
that I couldn't compromise
when I heard you
holler,
So we made a deal as God sat
on the sidelines and I
claimed a moral
victory,
But, in the end, I quietly
caved as you held hands
with lies I found
contradictory.
