Quatrain of Pilgrimage
Pilgrimage - a journey undertaken due
to a religious motive
I set out on a journey, so
many years ago, with the wind
of passion behind my
back,
I knew if I traveled far enough,
I would find enchanted felicity
so I could rest and
unpack.
But tedious days cowardly passed
in slow pain, I walked without
ever nearing the end of the
road,
Forced to abandon my eternal
call (I was facing myself after all)
I had only a prayer to
unload.
I died the next day.
