Quatrain of Sen Rikyu
Sen Rikyu - Japanese Tea Master
(redefined the tea ceremony - 1522)
To such extent I drink my tea,
along with frumenty in such deft
manner,
I salute thy foraging for leaves
and squeeze out liquid by turning a
spanner.
I have organized the ritual of sipping,
the washing of my spirits to be
purified,
For it is the rite of drinking, and
taste for sweetness, that doth
collide.
