Quatrain of Skipping Rocks
Skipping Rocks - rocks that skip over
troubled water
Let us go at sunset,
down to the river,
sit along the bank
and hallucinate,
Toss a hundred pound
rock into the water,
watch it skip in spite of
its weight.
We can marvel at beauty
in moving liquid and
the swaying of
evergreen trees,
We shall ignore my strength
and the possibility my
throwing arm is from a
genetic disease!
