just been fired

Back to back we stood,
waiting for the
signal to
proceed,

We had a score to settle,
thus it became
a dual to
heed.

We counted out the paces,
turned and fired
under the
sun,

I was still standing, all was
quiet, I was holding
the smoking
gun.
