Taxed - a burdensome charge


Before wild hearts were
bonded, a price was
demanded for thy sainted
bride,

A rapacious universe
wanted to collect what it
could so young love wouldn't
hide.

Requested connection,
entwined with binding
lore, the tempest of
carnality,

Prepaid!  Now it is
a lover's turn to find what
meaning dwells in opposing
sexuality.
