Quatrain of Right Thing

Right Thing - will you?

Alas, when the time comes to
do the right thing, is it
in your constitution
to do
so?

If there is doubt, or a lie hidden
somewhere, will you come
up short with
wrongs to
bestow.

If you are to live peacefully with
yourself, you must absolutely
know the direction
that must be
taken,

If you don't know whether you will
do the right thing, you had
better pray your soul
will not be
forsaken.
