Quatrain of Soul Wilderness
Roughing it
I went off to the wilderness of
my soul to foray into
new territory,
for a solitary
livelihood,
I had the urge to rough my
existence all alone in
spiritual wonder
as much as I
could.
The spirit of God watched
over me as a giant sun
rose and set above
a desolate
will,
Living out in the back country
of an existential livelihood
is turning out to be
lonesome
thrill.
