Quatrain of Indiana
Indiana (1816)
They stand at the cross roads
of a million years and
draw a sovereign
line,
The road to fairness crosses the
lives of protectors who
pray to the
divine.
They have repented for past sins,
placed their hearts in
pursuit of fertile
lands,
They stand together with God's
moral code, the countryside
now held in their
hands.
