Quatrain of Kentucky
Kentucky (1792)
A slice of the Cumberland Gap,
a parish near the edge
of the Big
Sandy,
Life thrills the adventurer, as
sacred thoughts whisper
through trees of
candy.
From the deep hollow, to the
offices of fine reproach
and business
deals,
Orthodox air from this glorious
terrain, leaves little
need for meals on
wheels.
