Quatrain of South Carolina
South Carolina (1788)
With a colonial society as a
building treasure, Carolinians
ultimately became hardy
stock,
They cultivated the land with
plantation sweat and filled
state coffers around the
clock.
When they decided to industrialize
and become a political power, consenting gods had to
reckon,
The love of emancipated yearning
and sovereign reign, is a
call citizens gracefully
beckon.
