Quatrain of Stuck Here

Stuck Here - no place to go

I have tried to change what I am,
I've tried to go another
direction, become
exalted,

Each time I thought I was getting
close to the new me,
my beliefs were
assaulted.

There seems no climbing out of
this self-centered soul
I find myself circling
about,

Perhaps I was meant to stay where
I am, I don't think God has
any plans for me to get
out.
