Quatrain of Tempered Soul
I did
I tempered my soul when I
was twelve years of
age, to keep
my spirit in
check,.
I knew if I left my ornery
self do what I want,
I'd constantly be
in a mindless
wreck.
I was born with too much
push and shove to
walk a civil line, I
would always
stagger,
With a chastened soul, I
behave myself politely,
only my thoughts
are allowed to
swagger.
