What you Think - who am I?

I am not what I say I am,
I am what you think
I am, let me put
this principle to
rest,

No matter how much I wish
to be the best, it is by
your standards I
must pass the
test.

I can wish to be honest, I
can wish to be loving, but
it doesn't count if
you think I a
fool,

I can try to be what I want
to be, but in the end it is
you who will decide
whether or not my
soul is a
jewel.
